BJP MLA Burba Mohan Tripura resigns from membership of Karbook Constituency Assembly

Agartala, Sep 23 (FD) After Sudip Roy Barman and Ahish Saha another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Burba Mohan Tripura resigned as Member of Tripura Legislative Assembly on Friday.
He is likely to join the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) Party ahead of the state assembly elections.

dering his resignation from membership of 43 (ST) Karbook Constituency Assembly to Speaker Ratan Chakraborty.
Without mentioning any reason behind his resignation, Burba Mohan Tripura in his resignation letter wrote, “I hereby tender my resignation to the membership of 43 (ST) Karbook Constituency Assembly and request you to kindly accept my resignation.”
Meanwhile, the Tipra Motha chief’s presence during the time of resignation almost made it clear that he would join the Pradyot-led indigenous-based regional party soon.
The development came just before the commencement of a two-day Assembly Session.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday last, IPFT MLA Brishaketu Debbarma was disqualified from Tripura assembly.
After resignation of the BJP MLA the party’s strength came down at 36 seats in the 60-member assembly and their alliance partner Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) has seven while the CPM has only 15 members and Congress has one seat. FD PD JK
